Join expert change worker Jørgen Rasmussen and find out about his unique and effective approach to change work.
Tuesday 10th December 2024 6:30PM -7:30PM (UK Time)
Based on nearly three decades of client work, Jørgen created the excellent Psychological Illusion Model (PIM) which embodies his unique approach to change work.
In this FREE online event Jørgen Rasmussen will explain how a lot of people's psychological suffering is NOT based upon them being broken or suffering from a so called mental illness, but is rather the result of them falling for some basic psychological illusions.
People basically misunderstand the nature of their own experience and helping them see its illusory nature can make be the difference that makes the difference.
He will also cover how The Psychological Illusion Model essentially turns hypnosis 'upside down'. The Psychological Illusion Model provides a means of helping people by teaching them to 'dehypnotize themselves' and help them more effectively with issues such as anxiety, depression chronic pain and trauma.
Here's Jørgen talking about the event.

Jørgen has worked professionally as an agent of change for over twenty years. He is the author of the books “Provocative Hypnosis” and “Provocative Suggestions” which have been widely acclaimed. John Grinder (co-creator of NLP) says of his work… “this is the stuff of genius”. For eight years, Jørgen has been running what he describes as an ‘impossibles practice’. What he will teach in this workshop demonstrates how he has subsequently refined and simplified his approach over the intervening years, so that it is simpler and more effective and more transferable to other contexts.
Jørgen’s work draws on a number of influences including: hypnosis, NLP, meditation and eastern and western approaches to psychology. He is also an experienced self defence instructor.
Probably Bob's last ever Swan workshop!
Early booking discount available
Take 5 minutes, watch below and find out why Bob Burn’s, ‘The SWAN’ is now actively used by therapists and healers in more than 85 countries around the world…
In this clip, Bob explains what the SWAN is… and how he deals with people when they first arrive for a session. Enjoy…
The Two Day Swan, Hypnosis and More Workshop (18th and 19th January 2025 1pm -5:30pm UK Time each day).
Bob’s work is inspirational, experimental and practical – all at the same time – a feat not many people manage. In these packed two days, Bob will share content covering hypnosis, his wonderful consultation framework, the Swan protocol and much much more including some things he has never shared in a workshop like this before.
In this content-packed workshop you will learn:
Plus Bob will share:
This may be the last opportunity to learn directly from Bob. All good things come to an end and Bob has been considering his future plans and it is highly likely that this will be his last Swan, Hypnosis and More workshop so if you want to ever train with Bob this is THE opportunity.
The Perfect Consultation
The door opens and a stranger walks in…. to be met by another stranger. One is a nervous client, the other a therapist, who can ‘go with the flow’, but that is only because they own and are highly trained in: a process. A magical template which takes them from station to station in an incredible journey whereby the client now possesses no more nerves. Rather in their place is now the knowledge that this is indeed the therapist. This is the one who is about to help them. And not just because this therapist knows exactly what to do and say, but also how to deliver these skills in this… ‘The Perfect Consultation’
And in order to possess The Perfect Consultation one has to know how to break down ‘The Wall’
The Wall is a total and complete description of the consultation Bob Burns has built up in his therapy room in over 40 years. It has been said by many full time therapists around the world that if a new student only learned:
The Bob Burns Wall Template … they could literally walk into a therapy room and begin healing patients (something Bob does NOT advocate!). However, it is taught in such a way by Bob Burns himself that all students will possess the full and complete knowledge of its power, AND be shown how to deliver it in a full consultation. The student will leave with every single word (hard copy) Bob uses and his entire repertoire exactly the way he presents it.
The Swan
A full demonstration will take place of The Swan Process. Bob will reveal how to make instant contact with the subconscious in a full wakened state without any form of hypnosis. He will also revea why The Swan is NOT an Ideo-Motor Response.
Bob will explain and demonstrate every single word, movement and hesitation (and why) of how The Swan should be presented. Students will leave with the hard copy of every ‘little difference that makes the big difference’ with regard to the presentation of the Swan. And yes, this will be workshopped by the students during the 2 days, giving them the knowledge and confidence to deliver this fascinating process for the rest of their lives.
Five Point Rebuttal Formula
Designed by Bob Burns in the 80’s this is a full formula whereby the therapist can handle any given challenge by any member of the public in either the therapy room, street or
impromptu. This ensures the hypnotist will never fear any challenge from any person with regard to their hypnotic skills. Bob will demonstrate this in full so that you will be able to use it thereafter.
Group Presentations
Here the student will be shown how to story-tell, how to test the audience for both imagination and response tests. Students will also be shown how to demonstrate hypnosis (or the power of suggestion) where there can be NO failure. And of course Bob’s now world famous teaching of ‘how to present a simple business card’ in a way the recipient will never forget you!
Mentalism in Hypnosis
As a fulltime professional stage hypnotist and mentalist/magician over many years Bob will be revealing several of the very best things that crossover from mentalism to hypnosis, including work he uses in his actual therapy rooms. At the end of this section the students will have that ability and the knowledge in how to present these. This is something you WILL use, again and again and again!
The most Important Therapy Questions Answered
Bob will also honestly answer what he considers to be 6 of the most important questions any therapist could ask, and needs to know!:
Do I NEED to talk to the Subconscious
If I fix them will they stay fixed
Do they need to be in hypnosis for me to help them
Do scripts work (one of the biggest arguments in hypnotherapy)
Do I need to do phenomena in the therapy room
Is it true that a somnambulists (someone who enters hypnosis easily) gets fixed better than a non-somnambulist
PLUS Bob will be adding in some special extra topics....
Bob writes:
"In January 2025 my good friend Pete Dalton will be hosting for me a two day online workshop which will of course cover most of my teachings. But will also contain many of my secrets. Secrets of how I get appointments and get such a demand for REAL Clients. Here I will be teaching the skills of what we call:
ice breaking and Convincers. Where I will be sharing some things I have never shared before with anyone other than those in my special groups in Southampton".
The full cost of the workshop is £230. However if you pay the deposit (£50) before 14th December 2024 you can secure the early booking price of just £180 (balance to be paid by 12th January)
*in addition, if you have attended a previous training with Bob Burns and want to attend as a refresher we are offering a special rate of £150. Contact us for more details.
"I would just like to say a big thank you to Pete Dalton and Bob Burns for putting on an amazing workshop. Its was packed full of great teachings, learnings and also great storys from Bob that put the meat on the bones, I really enjoyed it and the time just flew by, I just wished it had been longer. Anyone thinking about doing a workshop with Bob “Just stop it” ! and get on and do it!!!!
Des Howden
"Amazing Weekend! The SWAN introduces a new dynamic to therapy, its approach is so simple and yet has a depth which is limited by the curiosity alone!
Andrew Embling. Coach and Therapist
"Having attended Bob Burns “Swan Protocol Workshop” a few times I would say that he is without doubt the most gifted trainer in the field of Hypnotherapy & Hypnosis techniques, the way bob imparts and teaches his knowledge is very unique with it all coming from his own experiences in the therapy room which give the students a better understanding of how they can expand their own knowledge and success. I would highly recommend to anyone interested in the Hypnotherapy field to get themselves booked onto one of Bob’s workshops, you won’t be disappointed."
George Watson, Kingdom Hypnotherapy
"Bob Burns says that the first time you fully get the Swan protocol to work, “you will explode!” A big claim for a single protocol but he’s not kidding - this is a seriously powerful technique and you are doing yourself and your clients a disservice if you don’t have it. Bob is hypnotherapy royalty and his training is fantastic. I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed a training as much, and Bob’s ability to work with a huge group, yet make you feel like you’re the only person in the room, is incredible. He is incredibly generous with his time and his training - if you are a new therapist just starting out this information covers everything you could possibly need to know, and I count myself very lucky to have attended. This was my first training with Bob, but I’m sure it won’t be my last!"
Vic Paterson, The Curiosity Space
"I took the 2-day training with Bob on the Swan technique. It turned out to be a game-changer for me.
Not only did Bob go into the finer details of the technique, but he also shared probably all of the knowledge that he has gained over many years in his craft, and the techniques and "tricks" that he uses in therapy, and outside of therapy. I would recommend this training to anyone who wants to gain a deeper understanding of therapy, hypnosis, life, techniques that will change your business and how you operate, and a greater understanding of who you are. Thank you very much Bob, I was not expecting such a transformational, eye-opening and funny two days".
Yours sincerely, Patrick Bradley, Hypnotherapist.
"After hearing a friend in Australia talk about what she referred to as a ‘mind-blowing’ technique used by her coach, I became intrigued by the Swan Protocol. My research took me straight to Bob’s sessions, which were stalled due to Covid. Luckily for me, the session was run soon after and online. We spent 2 days over zoom led by Bob Burns, the inventor of the Swan, with the help of Pete Dalton.
Bob skilfully and enthusiastically introduced us to the technique in a manner that suited me, the complete beginner very well. Admittedly, I had my doubts after Day 1 and was unsure I would be able to successfully use this. However Bob gently encouraged me to give it a go the next day and it worked. His style is encouraging, never forceful. It is obvious how much he actually cares that what he is teaching is in fact understood by the recipients. I must mention, being that it was the first time the workshop was run online, it was seamless, I would have thought they were experienced at it.
I look forward to practicing, and will happily attend another course led by Bob. Thank you immensely for the effort that went into these two days".
Suparna Malhotra
"I completed a 2 day Swan Protocol Workshop via Zoom recently. It was absolutely fascinating, with the hand movements and inner voice coming through. Bob Burns made the Workshop fun, and he conducted it with humour. The Workshop was very informative, and I would thoroughly recommend it. Prior to the Workshop, I was a chronic insomniac, since the Workshop, I have slept much better".
Alison Kennedy
"I attended Bob Burn’s two day Workshop. It was a content packed workshop, which not only instructed us on The Swan but also other aspects of his therapy. Bob is generous with his information as well as his time. It was a thoroughly enjoyable two days and I have no hesitation in recommending this as an excellent value, and enjoyable two day workshop".
Jane Clark -Clinical Hypnotherapist
"I attended this workshop knowing of Bob Burns and The Swan by reputation only. I was not disappointed. Bob kept me laughing and smiling while he forced knowledge into my brain almost by stealth (Sneaky is best!). Bob is very generous with his knowledge and experience and I learnt much more than I had bargained for. A fantastic way to spend a few days – I’d highly recommend".
Caroline Pett
"I enjoyed training with Bob Burns very much. What I liked best about Bob Burns’s approach to training is the light heartedness. Learning with him really is fun. More than that he brings out the joy in the process itself and his assurance that perfection isn’t necessary gives me the confidence to go out and use the protocols he taught. He also provides a solid track to run on so I know where I am going when I use his methods".

ONLINE MASTER CLASS WITH JORGEN RASMUSSEN
Jørgen says:
"No emotion is inherently dangerous. But if not handled skillfully, jealousy seems to be the number one contender. Its not dubbed the green eyed monster for nothing.
Sadly, the most dangerous person a woman is likely to meet in her lifetime is her own husband. He is the person most likely to both commit violence towards her and the person most likely to murder her. She is most at risk at the time of breaking up and leaving the husband and in the months thereafter. The main emotion ( unskillfully handled that is ) behind this is jealousy.
I don’t mean to imply troublesome jealousy is something only men experience and act upon. Women experience their fare share as well, they just don’t kill their husbands as often.
Even when we take violence out of the picture this emotion can contribute to relationships breaking apart. The irritability, sullenness and anxiety plus the not so charming behavioral manifestations such as prolonged questioning in the form of interrogations of the motives and deeper feelings of the romantic partner usually takes it toll.
In other words, If you know how to help those who struggle with jealousy you can spend your career helping save marriages and contribute to them thriving. What could be better than that?
And if you're lucky you might even save a life or two.
Jealousy is one of those topics I regularly see clients for and most of my clients are very happy with the results.
On Saturday November 30th I am doing a one day masterclass on how to help these clients and how to troubleshoot when the sessions aren’t going that smoothly. I will be offering what I have learned in the last 27 years of seeing clients full time".
Some of the topics that the workshop will cover are:

Influenced by his work with Frank Farrelly, Nick Kemp has developed the distinctive and effective Provocative Change Works (PCW). Whether you are a coach, therapist, trainer, communicator, business person, or anyone who wants to personally develop Provocative Change Works can provide a valuable model of communication, problem solving and change.
Nick Kemp has been involved in the field of personal change for over 40 years, having studied many forms of communication and personal development, including Hypnosis, Provocative Therapy and NLP. Between 1980 and 1998 he taught workshops on personal development. Nick works on a group and individual basis for professional and personal work. He runs a successful private practice, and also provides business trainings to companies by appointment. In 2004 Nick Kemp met Frank Farrelly, (creator of Provocative Therapy and influence on the creators of NLP) and began an intensive training with him to become one of a very small number of Farrelly internationally approved Provocative Therapy Trainers.
Nick and Frank became firm friends, co presenting at Provocative Therapy events as well as spending far too many hours watching classic movies at Nick’s home cinema in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Nick set up The Association for Provocative Therapy (AFPT), and released “Provocative Change Works for Phobias”, which was the first of a number of DVD sets with commentary from Frank Farrelly himself. As well as teaching classic Provocative Therapy (PCW), Nick has created his own Provocative Change Works approach which he teaches internationally as well as with private clients.
"You are totally disarming and beyond formalisation. There is an ease and naturalness about you and you make people relax really quickly. You got the power man!”.”
Frank Farrelly, Creator of Provocative Therapy
"Do you know Nick Kemp? – (he is) exceptionally bright, and I have immensely enjoyed communicating…The kind of exchanges that I have been having… are the kind of activities that I think can really advance the field. He has modeled two different simple processes which are part of his Provocative Change Works™ set of tools for working with anxiety and other strong emotions that I have found enormously useful in working with clients. He has also modeled the different patterns in Frank Farrelly’s Provocative Therapy so that they are easy to learn. In addition, he is everything you might wish for in a colleague – available, creative, and eager to discuss ideas and learn as well as teach."
Steve Andreas, NLP Developer and Author
"I’ve watched the work of Fritz Perls, Anna Freud, Carl Rogers, Moshe Feldenkrais, Alexander Lowen, and a few more of the “names” in the psychotherapy field. Your clinical work surpasses some of them now, at a comparatively young age. Given your passion for clinical learning, love of people and creative spirit, I suspect I’ll be dropping your name onto that list of recognized “names” in the psychotherapy field one day."
Frank Bourke Ph.D, Executive Director of the NLP Research and Recognition Project, former lecturer Cornell University and researcher London University
This online training is presented by Nick Kemp, a Frank Farrelly approved Provocative Therapy trainer and official custodian of the Frank Farrelly archive. This is the first training of a series of new Provocative Therapy specific trainings, where attendees will have access to exclusive material from the Farrelly archive as well as access to the inner workings of Frank’s classic approach.
This opportunity includes the following
• Insight into a “Provocative” v traditional client session frame for accelerated change
• Exploring and deconstructing unreleased Frank Farrelly footage from the official archive
• Frank Farrelly’s influences in creating this unique approach
• Exploding typical misconceptions about PT, including framing it as being essentially about humour and “reverse psychology” which Frank hated
• Frank’s thoughts on certifications in therapy and the co-creators of NLP
• An insight into the mind of Frank outside the world of therapy. Likes, loves and hates
• Classic Farrelly stories in client sessions
• Access to unreleased Provocative Therapy material dating back to 1970s
• Unreleased transcripts of Frank’s sessions across the globe
• How to frame a provocative therapy client session
• 1 – 1 opportunities for a provocative therapy session with Nick Kemp
Nick is perfectly placed to be the guide to Frank and Provocative Therapy. Nick's own Provocative Change Works approach was heavily influenced by Frank's work with Provocative Therapy. Nick became a close friend of Frank and when Frank died, Nick inherited his entire archive of notes and recordings and in this workshop Nick will draw on that rich resource to provide a glimpse into how Frank worked.
Nick Kemp writes:
I spent many years up close studying provocative therapy and working with Frank Farrelly, before he passed on his life’s work to me for safe keeping. I am pleased to be presenting this look at Frank's work and legacy.
As the creator of Provocative Therapy, Frank broke new ground. Watching him work is extremely enlightening, there was certainly nothing predictable in how he worked.
Frank got results however unconventional the approach appeared. Perhaps that is why his clients described him in ways such as:
“The kindest, most understanding man I have ever met in my whole life, wrapped up in the biggest son of a bitch I have ever met.”
Frank was fully committed to assisting his clients and wasn't concerned with conforming to some particular therapist stereotype. As he said:
“Throw away your professional dignity in the service of the client”
I love listening to the phrases and stories that Frank told during client sessions. Phrases such as:
“When the pain begins, the learning starts”
“That dog ain’t never gonna hunt…
Provocative Therapy was developed in an inpatient ward as Farrelly, dissatisfied with his effectiveness as a therapist, began to explore new procedures for promoting significant, resilient change in chronic and recalcitrant patients. He worked in this institutional setting for 17 years, continuing to develop and refine his techniques.
Frank was a fascinating character, inside and outside of the therapy room. For example, before creating Provocative Therapy, Frank was a monk in a monastery and he had a keen interest in remote viewing and ran workshops on this subject.
The online training will run over four sessions in February and March 2025 as follows:
Tuesday 18th February & Thursday 20th February and Thursday March 6th and Thursday March 13th.
All sessions will run from 6pm-8:30pm UK time.
Participants will get access to exclusive material from the Frank Farrelly archive and there will be resources and activities provided between sessions. Replays of the live sessions will be available to stream.
The full cost of the workshop sessions is £349. A £75 deposit secures your place. However, there is an early booking rate of £285 if a £75 deposit or full payment is made by 15th January 2025.
* There is a special rate of £249 for students of the PCW 3 or PCW 3.1. programme. Contact us for details.

Three Questions that make Changework (almost) Effortless
In this free event, therapist, actor and hypnosis trainer Joe Kao will be introducing three types of questions that you can use in your coaching or changework practice.
There is no mysterious secret about the questions themselves - they are simply about finding exceptions to the problem, evoking resources, and externalising the client's thinking.
The real magic is in how you artfully use questions in a way that's strategic, conversational and impactful.
In this presentation, Joe will be sharing what he has learned from nearly two decades experience in using questions to:
In the video here, Joe introduces the topic.
Join us on Sunday 8th September 3pm UK Time (we will run for approximately 45 mins with additional time for questions).
Joe Kao DHypPsych(UK) is a hypnotherapist and psychotherapist in Cambridge, UK. He is the head writer for hypnosisdownloads.com, one of the world's largest and most highly-regarded websites for hypnosis recordings, and he has taught numerous workshops on therapeutic metaphors, storytelling and Ericksonian hypnosis to people around the world.
Joe has been named the first official trainer of Provocative Change Works, and he has trained extensively in improv theatre, voice work and performance skills.
"I have had the pleasure of taking Therapeutic Improvisations with Joe Kao. It was easily the most fun I have had at a workshop and one of the most personally beneficial.
I not only had a great time practicing in the breakout rooms provided; but I also brought the exercises into my personal life and have had a great time practicing with my loved ones.
I think people who are looking to add something to their work will benefit greatly from this workshop. Joe’s generous teaching style alone will make it worth your time".
Ron Gonsalves, Boston, MA. USA
"I found the improv and therapy course extremely enjoyable and I learned so much. There was a fascinating blend of theory, explanation from Joe and exploration, learning by doing. I felt I was being thrown into the deep end but in a safe and supportive environment. And by the end of the course, I was beginning to swim! This course could benefit a huge range of therapists, coaches and anybody interested in self-development."
Michael Shoolbred
"Joe Kao’s course in transformational storytelling really delivered, and in a way I was not expecting. I thought I was in for a theory deep course on story structure and linguistic tricks but instead it was a very practical with immediate application. As I reflect I realise that this is much better as I could have easily drowned in too much theory and it wouldn’t have been useful. I would love to build on these skills with Joe and I look forward to another course. Thank you Pete and Joe. This is by far the best learning platform for change work that I have come across".
Thomas Wood
"I highly recommend this course. I have thoroughly enjoyed it and each week the time has flown by. After being a part of this I can say I am more able to develop stories to use in the moment. Transformational stories isn’t something you attend and then it’s done. It’s just the beginning of developing a whole vault full of your own stories. Thanks again Pete and Joe".

In this FREE online event, Nick Kemp trainer and therapist and creator of Provocative Change Works (PCW) will present various incarnations, iterations and myths about the use of ‘provocation’ in effective change work.
The session will explore:
“There comes a time in every man’s life when he’s consumed by the desire to spit on his palms, hoist the black flag and start cutting throats.”
Nick writes:
"Ten years ago I moved away from using conventional NLP, Hypnosis and other approaches to exclusively use PCW, simply because its far more effective and I can totally back up that claim. A lot of the tools from such approaches were useful, but hugely limited compared to what is possible now. At the heart of this approach is the practice of provocation and the legacy of Frank Farrelly. Often this approach is misunderstood, but once a practitioner understands the true nature of the approach and the use of provocation they become a more flexible, fluid and effective agent of change”

Join therapist, actor and hypnosis trainer Joe Kao in this new five part online workshop and learn the powerful art of transformational questioning.
The right question, at the right time, can completely transform the way a client thinks of their problem.
The entire issue may even dissolve in that moment, where the client says, "It's like there isn't a problem anymore!".
But how can you develop the skills to do this reliably, consistently and artfully?
Socratic questioning is about reconnecting with the core principles of what make questions so powerful and transformational.
The Ancient Greek philosopher Socrates didn't walk around Athens thinking he had all the answers, or that he was going to "sleight of mouth" everyone into agreeing with him.
He would explore a topic humbly and conversationally, carefully unpacking what another person believed or assumed about a particular subject, and inviting them to reflect on whether their assumptions actually made sense.
Invaluable insights and epiphanies would emerge from those conversations, as people gradually became less rigid, less self-certain, and more curious and open-minded about the world around them.
This way of questioning is equally useful in our lives today.
In this five week online training, we'll be exploring:
• How to externalise a thought, so that a client can observe it dispassionately
• The benefits of representing a client's thinking back to them
• The assumptions and "game rules" behind common emotional problems like anxiety, anger and guilt
• The magic of exception questions
• How to do thought experiments that break down a client's generalisation
• The value of creating impactful, sensory rich examples
• Going beyond the everyday - being willing to be provocative, outlandish and surreal
Socratic questioning gives you a way to break free of rigidity, to become much more flexible in your thinking, and to help others do the same.
Some systems of coaching teach rigid, formulaic approaches to questioning clients, which inevitably feel clunky and artificial.
Other approaches are so filled with techno-jargon that it's almost impossible to implement the principles in real life.
Socratic questioning is different. It isn't about knowing better than the client, or "unconsciously installing ideas" in them.
Socratic questioning is about gently, artfully helping people to recognise for themselves where their assumptions or expectations aren't useful for them.
It's about helping the client's own "psychological immune system" to identify where an idea no longer serves them.
This in turn allows change to happen much more easily, because people suddenly become willing to get out of their own way, and to get on with doing what's useful for them.
We're calling this The Changework Dojo because this is a training about doing.
It’s about getting the skills into your muscle memory, so that that Socratic Questioning becomes second nature to you.
Instead of focusing on endless concepts and pieces of jargon, this training is about practising and refining your core questioning skills so that you can make problems dissolve and open brand new possibilities in people’s minds.

ONLINE MASTER CLASS WITH JORGEN RASMUSSEN
Jørgen says:
"I see more clients for anger management than for any other single issue. A lot of people struggle with explosive anger and rage and relatively few people know how to help them.
Come to think of it, no trainer or seminar/ course I attended ever provided any in depth information much less a solid framework for how to work with these clients.
This is one area where clients are often very motivated to make a change. Quite often, their marriage or other romantic relationships are on the line when they contact you. Some are in deep shame about how they treat their kids when in the midst of these strong emotions. And then you have those who physically use violence when in the grip explosive anger. When not skillfully handled these emotions often bring out the worst in people and ruin relationships.
In this workshop you will get access to the frameworks, tasking assignments and insights I use to help my anger and rage clients. These hard-earned findings are the result of several thousand client sessions over a 27 year period".
Some of the topics that the workshop will cover are:
He is also an experienced self defence instructor and has a regular meditation practice.
Each workshop will start at 12:30pm and run until 6:30pm UK time approximately.
Access to watch a session replays will be made available to all participants shortly after the live session and remain live for at least 12 months. As a result if you are unable to make the session live you can catch up with the replay.
